Have you ever heard the expression “I wear many hats”? This means that a particular person holds many different responsibilities in their life just like a hat does. One hat may be a parent another is probably a job, another could be a hobby, pet owner, volunteer, musician, athlete, etc. In other words, our responsibilities are each measured by a different hat. It’s cool once you think about it, but it leaves me with the question, how many hats do you wear? Are you good at managing your responsibilities and multi-tasking, or do they seem overwhelming at times? When this occurs, we need to question each hat we are wearing and analyze its importance. If some responsibilities are getting neglected because we have too much going on, then we need to “hang up” some of our hats and focus on the ones that matter.
The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 15:58 (NIV): Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
This tells us that God wants us to put His work first in our lives always, and we will be rewarded for our efforts.
