This week we conclude the Crossing video series with a lesson dealing with consequences. Have you ever thought about how your actions and behaviors have consequences? Can you remember a time when you did something you weren’t supposed to and didn’t get caught? I bet you felt that misbehaving was easy and there were no consequences to your actions. Think of a time when you did something bad and it lead to some very bad results for you. How did you handle it? The point is committing a crime, lying, cheating, stealing, disobeying, and many other sins all have bad consequences whether we get caught in the act or not. Always remember, God sees everything even when our parents and friends do not. Hopefully when you stay close to God, the Holy Spirit speak to you about your behaviors and helps you feel badly when you do something wrong. When this happens, it is up to you to ask for forgiveness and make things right in your heart. After the fall of Jericho, God instructed the Israelites not to take any valuables from the fallen city, but one couldn’t resist the temptation. Because of the greed of Achan, God was dishonored and punishment was soon to follow. What sins have you committed that dishonor God? Whether you feel as though you got away with it or not, punishment for these sins will not be far behind.

After 17 years working with student ministries at FBC Mantachie and 9 of those serving as youth minister, God has decided to lead us into a new direction and called us to begin a new ministry on Hawaii’s Big Island. This was not an easy decision to make for us and we will need your prayers as we begin the path God is leading us on. Through much prayer and soul searching over the past couple of months, God has already been working in our lives as He directs our steps. We have been here since the beginning of our marriage and FBC Mantachie will always be our home church, as you are our family. We hope and pray when we visit our families and the area, we will always be welcomed back with open arms. We do realize there will be heavy hearts and sadness with our leaving, but be assured we are following God’s Will with this decision. Sometimes taking a leap of faith is being able to say yes and trust God completely. There is a challenging task set before us and I am certain God feels we will be able to make a difference in the area of Waikoloa Village. We ask for you to not only pray for us, but to pray for the lives of the students we will be trying to reach and the people of Waikoloa Baptist Church as we bond with our new church and community. Being about 4500 miles from north Mississippi, it will be tough on the relationships of family and friends we are moving away from; however we will never be more than a phone call away. We ask for prayers for our families and for God to give them comfort and understanding as we begin this new phase in our lives. We have enjoyed serving the community of Mantachie for all these years and will continue to do so until we leave on April 10th. May God always bless FBC Mantachie and the lives of everyone it shares the Gospel of Jesus Christ with. We love you all!
