How do you show others you love them? When we use the words “I Love You” to someone, how do they know we truly mean it? One way to answer this is by seeing how God shows His love for us. We need to use His example to understand the real meaning of LOVE. God is love; in fact, He loves us so much that He gave up His one and only Son to die for us so we could go to Heaven. He loves us so much that He is willing to forgive us of our sins when we mess up. He also showed His love for us when He created us in His own image. God’s love is a genuine love. It’s not a puppy and playful love that comes and goes; instead it’s never-ending. So now knowing how He has love for us, how do we show it to others and to God in return? Love should be taken seriously and honestly. When we do things out of love, they should be wholeheartedly, and with strong conviction. Remember, “love never fails”.

Looking back on my life I suppose I have been like most people in the world and have learned to live with a lot of mistakes. We all envision ourselves with what we could have done differently or should have done in a particular circumstance that would have changed our lives forever, but the reality is that we are stuck with the decisions and choices we make. The question now is, how do we deal with the scars? There is no easy answer to this other than we lay it down before God and we move away from it. Some things in life are never forgotten, but one thing for sure is that if we continue to live with the scars of our past, we will never be satisfied in the future. In Philippians 3: 13-14, we see very wise instructions on what we need to do and these 2 verses make it sound so simple. We need to put the past behind us and seek the goals which God has for us in the future. So when we make the obvious life changing mistake, we need to stop and pray for God to help us deal with it and then move forward. Always look ahead, because the past is always going to remind us of things that cannot be changed. To truly make peace with your deeds and yourself, you need to be able to give God your baggage and let Him stow it away for you so you can enjoy the rest of your life.
We define peace by what we have in our hearts. If we truly have Jesus, then we truly should have peace about our future.
