Today’s Bible verse got me thinking about Christmas time. How much of our energy is spent buying or getting the “right” gift? Why do we try so hard to get something that will be outdated or that you’ll get bored of before too long? So much of our energy at Christmas time is spent in the pursuit of things that don’t last?
This verse tells us to not store up treasures on earth, but to rather store up treasures in heaven. So instead of just living for yourself and what you can get, choose to do something different this Christmas.
If you have a friend who needs help offer it. If you see a need, meet it. If you have extra money, give it to your church to help them reach out to someone else in need. Mostly, just be open to let the light of Jesus shine through open doors all around you.
This Wednesday night is our ugly sweater Christmas party.  We will start at 6:45 sharp.  I hope to see each of you there.

Who you let speak into your life is important. You might not think about the fact that what you watch, listen to, and even the people you hang out with makes a huge impact in the course your life takes.

You’ll never grow or be exceptional at anything if you don’t hang around others who are exceptional. For example, if you wanted to train to be a better athlete, you’d train with other athletes who were better than you. Training with better athletes would help you improve your game.

The same is true in life. Who we spend time with matters. You should be spending time listening to, reading after, and hanging out with people who challenge you to be better. You’ll never do anything exceptional if you don’t do anything different. Choose today to not just hang out and follow people who are at the same level as you.

Choose to find friends, books, podcasts and videos that inspire you to greatness. Like the Bible verse says, walk with the wise and become wise. Choose to make any adjustments in your life today to let wise people speak into your life.
