Picking back up with our Crossing video series, we take a look at this week’s lesson concerning barriers. This lesson makes us think of a time when we accomplished something in our life with a great degree of difficulty or a milestone. Think of the obstacles it took in order to reach that goal and how much effort it took on your part in order to complete the task. Barriers are all around us and through the struggles of life we are certain to “wipeout” every now and then before we reach our goals. The important thing to remember is, are we going to have the ability to continue trying or are we going to fold under the pressure? Joshua had the task of conquering the city of Jericho and as God gave him specific instructions of what to do, no matter how ridiculous they sounded, Joshua obeyed. When Joshua followed God’s instructions, the walls came crashing down and he was able to accomplish his goal of seizing the city. We all have walls in our life that seem impossible to climb or get around, but through our obedience in God and following His guidance, those walls can come crashing down as well and we can overcome the barriers in our life.

This week we will take a break from our regular youth services and meet upstairs with the adults for a Revival service at 7:00pm. Please make a note of the change of schedule. Points will be added so be sure to see Kayla to mark you present and if you have your Bible or brought a visitor. We look forward to meeting back in the amphitheater next week as we continue the video series Crossing. The schedule is posted below.
Liquid Video Series: Crossing will continue next week with Charles Sanderson concluding the last two lessons to close out the series. Lesson 4: “Barriers” February 25 Lesson 5: “Consequences” March 4 Bro. Trent and Ms. Rebecca This week’s crossing series dealing with changes takes us to a lesson dealing with life changing experiences. Think of a defining moment when you made a decision that changed your faith about God. This should be an experience you will never forget, whether it was painful, exciting, or shocking. The important thing to remember is when we do begin to trust in God through our experience, it becomes a monumental memory. How do you remember the important changes in your life? How do we memorialize them? As Joshua continued his travels he came upon the Jordan River where there was no way to cross. God comforted Joshua and once again proved how great He was in allowing them to cross through a body of water on dry land because of their faith. God teaches us that sometimes we have to test the waters in life in order to prove our faith and trust in Him. We have to be willing to “go” where we need to go and take that first step before He will show us how He will protect us and show us He is truly with us. How’s your faith? Think back at the things that God has done for you and how those experiences have molded you. Did they improve your faith in Him? If so, how do you show your appreciation towards His works for you?
Bro. Trent and Ms. Rebecca This Wednesday will be lesson #2 in the Crossing series dealing with rescue. Have you ever had to be rescued from something? How did you feel when you were in that situation; frightened, angry, frustrated, or did you remain calm? Are you the kind of person who gets in trouble and not ashamed to ask for help, or do you try to get out of the situation yourself? What about when you get in a fix or do something stupid and you just need a friend to lift you up and help you out? We all need to be rescued from time to time whether we are stranded, hurting, or just simply misplaced in life and need to be redirected. The first step to seeking help is first being able to acknowledge you are in trouble. Once we are able to accept this, then it becomes easier to ask for help. Many times we get stuck by our own selfish pride and never want to admit we need to be rescued because it feels embarrassing to us. The truth is we are God’s children and He expects us to call on Him when we need Him, and this is nothing to be embarrassed about. If you are in need of help, reach out to your Heavenly Father and ask Him to rescue you.
