Welcome to Mantachie First Baptist |
|
Please pray for us as we are on our summer Mission Trip this week. We hope to touch the lives of those we meet and are able to lend a helping hand to the Panama City area and surrounding communities with our help through the Salvation Army. Please pray for our safety and willingness to perform whatever tasks that are set before us and to for God’s Will to be fulfilled through our work. We thank you church family for your support and we look forward to sharing this experience with you when we return.

We want to congratulate our high school and college graduates. Mantachie and Fulton will have their ceremonies this coming Saturday. I encourage all our graduates to trust God’s plan for your life. No matter where the road may lead, make sure God is your guide. Too many times we focus on OUR plan. I can promise you that if God is not the author of your plan, it will fail every time. I ask our church family to commit our High School and College graduates to prayer.
THANK YOU A big thank you to our graduation committee and others who helped out during the graduation day luncheon. We really appreciate all that was done to honor our 2014 High School graduates. Mission Trip 2014 Mission Trip 2014 is here. We ask for your prayers as we get ready to head out Sunday afternoon for our 2014 mission trip. We have been in prayer for over a year and it’s hard to believe it is almost here. We will once again be working with the Salvation Army in their homeless/transition shelter, distribution center and thrift store. We want to show God’s love to everyone we meet; from the restaurant workers to the hotel workers to the Salvation Army workers to the people we meet on the street, our prayer if for God to shine through our students and workers. We serve a Mighty God and we want others to see His good works in all that we do. We thank you again for your monetary support and also your prayers. Bro. Trent & Ms. Rebecca How many times have you been to a store and bought some can foods? The only way to know what is in the can is by reading the label wrapped around it. What if you were looking to buy a can of mixed fruit and you found a can without a label? Would you buy it taking the chance that what is on the inside was exactly what you were looking for? Chances are probably not.
The label is what makes the can recognizable to the human eye. Now think about what if someone who you didn’t know came to church and the only thing we had to go by is what we saw on the outside. Consider the facts that when a visitor comes to church they are exactly like a can with no label and until we get them to open up, we are never going to see what is on the inside. Church members put way too much focus on the label they see on the outside and do not want to explore the inner contents. How would this make you feel if you were judged only by what people saw of you on the outside? The lesson we can learn from a can is never judge a book by its cover, a can by its label, and a person by their appearance. Mission Trip 2014 We are just over a week away from taking our Mission Trip to Panama City. We have a busy week planned and we ask for your prayers as we make our final plans and also pray for our students, sponsors, safety, and for God to use us to touch the lives of those we meet. Bro. Trent & Ms. Rebecca Have you developed bad habits over the years? If so, how many? It is by far our human nature at some point in time to develop a bad habit or two. This can be something as simple as picking your teeth, biting your nails, crunching on ice, or swearing to more dangerous habits such as drinking, smoking, drugs, dressing provocative, and even texting while driving. What forms these bad habits? Bad habits can be formed from watching someone else or experimenting with something. They can also be formed without even noticing and it just come naturally. The point is, if we do not control our bad habits, then over time they can become addictions. When this happens, our worse fears become realities because we have been taken in by something that is now consuming us. Three of the worse bad habits for teenagers right now are substance abuse due to caffeine, alcohol, or drugs, sexual immorality, and vulgar speech or swearing. These are the three we will take a look at this week along with others to see how you measure up.
God is like laundry soap…. He gets the stains out that others left behind. Have you had your bad habits washed away lately? Thank You I want to personally thank our students and church family who volunteered in the tornado clean-up. It warms my heart to see our community come together and show God’s love to those who are in need and hurting. Continue to remember those in your prayers as they begin to heal and rebuild. Mission Miles With renting 2 vans this summer, we are still needing money for vans and gas. If you would like to make a contribution to help with travel expenses, please mark your offering envelope to “Mission Miles”. Again thank you for all you do for us. Bro. Trent & Ms. Rebecca |
