“The Music City Mission Trip” is done.  We had a very successful mission trip this summer and are very pleased with how our students performed at each and every task put before them.  We reached high expectations for those whom we worked for and left a wonderful Godly impression with all we came in contact with.  From the places we ate to the places we stayed, I feel as though our youth group left behind lots of smiles and a sweet spirit for others to see.  Our church was well represented throughout Nashville, TN and I must say this might have been the best youth trip I have been a part of so far.  We are already in prayer for next year and have begun early planning sessions.  We want to thank our church family for supporting our youth through prayers and monetary donations.  We would not be able to do this without your help!

Our Mission Work: Our group of 19 managed to unwrap, sort, and package 27,000 pounds of food at the Second Harvest Food Bank in Nashville and also help cultivate an Urban Garden by spreading mulch, working the bean fields, and watering crops.

We are less than a week away from our Mission Trip to Nashville, TN.  While we making our final preparations, please continue praying for us as we travel next week.  We are excited to be going to the “Music City” and our mission is to represent God and our church very well.  I am praying for each student who goes to grow closer to God and be able to break down any barriers that are between them so they will come home with their heart in a better place.  I want each person to feel as though they have given their time and efforts wholeheartedly and held nothing back.  Our goals are that everyone feels the spirit of the Lord through our actions and deeds.

Psalm 35:9 “My soul shall be joyful in the Lord; it shall rejoice in his salvation.”  A positive attitude come from knowing God, and a joyful heart comes from being saved by God.  When we are truly saved by God, we should be positive in the way we live our lives and impact the lives of those around us.  God should put a joy inside us that is never-ending.  The world is going to get ugly from time to time, but we must learn to see the outcome of it all……God Will Prevail.

A special thanks to Drew Armstrong as he brought the message to us last Wednesday.  This was the first time we had a 7th grader lead out in presenting the Word of God to our youth group.  Please pray for Drew as he continues to show a good example for our youth group.

James2:17 “Faith without works is dead”. Claiming to have faith in God and not showing it to others or to God himself is pointless. God wants us to demonstrate our faith to everyone by working for Him. Both are equally important.

Mission Nashville 2012 (May 21-25)

We are less than 3 weeks from our mission trip this summer and our students are getting excited about this opportunity to serve in the city of Nashville.  We are getting closer to having our trip paid off, but with the high gas prices and an extra van rental, we need your help with our remaining costs.  If you would like to help with our travel expenses, please make an offering to “Mission Miles”.  Also, please be praying for us to have a safe trip and to touch the lives of those we come in contact with.  I pray that our students will benefit from a chance to serve others and to grow closer together as a youth group while we are away.

Our mission trip information is posted on the bulletin board in the Amphitheatre if you wish to get an idea of the type of work we will be doing and a schedule of our week.  A list of all the students going is also posted if you would like to help out a student who still owes money.
