His Love
God sent His Son to take the punishment
For all the thoughtless, sinful things we do;
Jesus gave his life because He loves us;
His love is boundless, sweet, forever true.
On Easter morn He showed He is our Savior;
His resurrection proves He is our Lord.
That is why we tell you, "Happy Easter!"
He secured our heavenly reward!

Are You In The Rat Race?
Do you have days when it seems there just aren’t enough hours to do everything you need to get done? Does your alarm clock seem to be more of a starting pistol to begin the day’s race? Do you jump out of bed; run all day; and never seem to get anywhere, similar to the rat running inside the wheel? We all have the same 24 hours to work with each day the problem is how we prioritize those hours. The average person sleeps about 7 hours which leaves 17 hours for us to work with. Take out 8 hours for a job or 7 for school and now we have about 8 or 9 hours of “our” time to do something with. This is where we really need to be good stewards to use our time wisely.
Most of us only think about money when we talk about stewardship, but consider that God also holds us accountable for how we spend or manage our time. Just like we should budget for our finances, we should also “budget” for how we spend the 24 hours He gives us each day. Unfortunately, many people manage time worse than money which results in many wasted opportunities due to “blown” time. Spending our time in ways that keep us from doing the things God wants us to do is just as much a sin as any other you can think of.
We need to create a “time budget” with true consideration for what is important. This is not a means to pack your schedule to the max and always be exhausted, but rather to seek Gods will in our life and get the most out of what he wants for us. For many, me included, this means we may have to give up some things that we want to do in order to be obedient to God’s will.
Pray and carefully consider what God is leading you to do daily. You will find that He offers you ample time for: Studying His word, taking care of business; time for fun & recreation; and even time for rest. It’s all in how we choose to manage it. Ephesians 5:15-17—See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

Mothers’ remarks:
- Mona Lisa’s mother: “After all that money your father and I spent on braces, that’s the biggest smile you can give us?”
- Columbus’s mother: “I don’t care what you’ve discovered! You could have written!”
- Jonah’s mother: “That’s a nice story. Now tell me where you’ve really been.”
- Michelangelo’s mother: “Can’t you paint on walls like other children? Do you have any idea how hard it is to get that stuff off the ceiling?”
- Washington’s mother: “The next time I catch you throwing money across the Potomac, you can kiss your allowance good-bye!”
- Mary’s mother: “I’m not upset that your lamb followed you to school, but I would like to know how he got a better grade than you.”

expects us not to

Confessional Booth
When Mrs. O’Flaherty went into the confessional, she noticed an unfamiliar face behind the shutter. “You’re not our regular priest,” she said. “What are you doing here?”
“I’m the furniture polisher, ma’am,” the man said.
“Well, where is Father Dolan” she asked.
“I couldn’t tell you, but if he heard anything like the stories I’ve been listening to, he’s gone for the police.”

One Nation Under God
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That’s no offense; it’s a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all
In silence alone we must meditate,
God’s name is prohibited by the state.
We’re allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They’ve outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the “unwed daddy,” our Senior King.
It’s “inappropriate” to teach right from wrong,
We’re taught that such “judgments” do not belong.
The Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It’s scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school’s a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; my soul please take!
Amen

Lesson from a Servant Girl
A servant girl said that she prayed all the time. The preacher asked her how she did this. She answered, "When I open my eyes in the morning, I ask God to open the eyes of my understanding. When I am dressing I ask God to clothe me with his righteousness. When I wash my face, I ask God to wash all my sins away. When I begin my work, I pray for strength equal to my tasks. When I kindle the fire, I pray for God to revive the fires of my soul. When I sweep the house, I pray for God to cleanse my heart of all impurities. When I prepare a meal, I pray for God to feed me with the manna from heaven. When I am busy with the little children, I pray for God to give me the spirit of a little child." She had indeed learned to "pray without ceasing."
Are You a Duck or an Eagle?
A taxi driver picked up an airport customer in New York City and immediately introduced himself as Wally. He offered his passenger a cold Coke from a cooler in the front seat, that day's newspaper, and his choice of music from a few well-chosen CDs. The client was amazed and asked, "Have you always served your customers like this?"
Wally said, "No, not always. My first five years of driving I spent complaining like all the rest of the cabbies do. Then I heard a Chrsitian speaker on the radio one day. He said that if you wake up expecting to have a bad day, you'll rarely disppoint yourself. Ducks quack and complain. Eagles soar above the crowd. Our mouth gives expression to what we think!"
