Lesson 3: “Water & Air” There are very important items given to us daily that are “FREE” and that we probably take for granted. If your vehicle needs more air in the tires or water in the radiator, you can usually find it at your local gas station at no charge; same as in your home. Water and Air! Both of these show significant importance toward staying healthy and fit and we need to consume a lot of them. The Bible also expresses that God created us when He breathed into us the breath of life.  
John 4:14. Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."

Lesson 2: Exercise- In week 2 of our Spiritual Fitness series, we will learn the importance of Exercise.  When most of us think of the term exercise, we think of going to the gym, lifting weights, running or playing sports.  This is true and is very good for us to do, but the Bible tells us we need to “work” and labor for the Lord.  This is also a form of exercising.  Both are intended to keep us strong and in shape, but most important to prevent us from becoming lazy and unhealthy. 
 
1 Timothy 4:8: For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

YOUTH BBQ LUNCHEON
We want to thank you for your support and appetites for our BBQ Fundraiser we had this past Sunday.  With your efforts, we were able to raise just over $800 to help with our Mission Trip this coming summer.

For the next 7 weeks we are going to begin a lesson series titled, "Spiritual Fitness." As we begin a new year together, it is important that we see where we were in 2010 and what we can improve on in 2011. I want to challenge you this year to take care of yourselves not only physically, but spiritually as well.  This week we are going to start a new semester with a lesson on "Nutrition;" because what we put into our bodies and minds is what makes us what we become.

"Spiritual Fitness is filling yourself with what matters; foods are good for you and God's Word which prepares you for the day's challenges that you face."
