This week our youth service will begin at 6:00 instead of 7:00, so we will have time to watch the movie “Left Behind”.  This is a powerful movie dealing with Salvation and the day God calls the Saved ones to Heaven and the rest are left behind.  If you have never seen this movie, I encourage you to be here this week to see it for the first time.  If you have already seen it, please come see it again.  It is a constant reminder to us that we should be witnessing to the people in our lives each and every day.  Don’t forget to invite your friends.
 
River Kings Hockey night is this Saturday.  We will leave the church at 3:30.  We’ll eat at Steak-n-Shake in Southaven.  Please bring money for food and souvenirs.  From there we will go to the Desoto Civic Center where we will watch the game.

NO PRAISE BAND PRACTICE THIS WEEK.

 

This Wednesday we will watch a documentary video on Noah’s Ark.  Bro. Brian and our other adult leaders will be conducting the service. Ms. Rebecca and I will be in route to New Orleans for “The Great Escape” cruise to Mexico on Thursday.  Please pray for us that God will use this conference to teach us and draw us closer to Him.

We are grateful and appreciative to you all for this opportunity and I know it will be rewarding for you when we return with new ideas and visions for our youth group.

There will be no praise band practice this week.  Enjoy your week off.

With a new year in front of us, I want to encourage each of you to make some changes in your lives for 2009.  Think about the things you’ve committed to in the past that start out with excitement and energy and usually end in a few weeks with discouragement and failure.  I want you to challenge you to commit yourselves to living for the Lord this year.  As you know, this will not be an overnight change, but you can take small steps in order to gradually make this change in your life.  Remember, commitment means you commit to something and stick to it……not quit.
 
I want to thank all of you for coming to our New Year’s party last week and beginning the year 2009 together.  I am looking forward to this year with you and I hope you can get excited about what the Lord will have for you here at FBC Mantachie.
