I know what you're thinking: with the New Year comes new goals, resolutions, diet plans, dreams, and even aspirations of great changes that people seem to want to make. You may even think about what happened last year when this new motivation started off strong then fizzled out within a few weeks and you thought, there's always next year. Was it laziness, lack of determination, or just lost interest and thought it would make a good goal for the next year? Whatever it was, we have all been there, done that. So why should this year be any different? Maybe we didn't succeed because it was all about us. We live in a world where it is all about me, me, me. It is easy to give up when we are trying to please ourselves. What we fail to do many times is set our goals to please God and not ourselves. What goals come to mind when we think about pleasing God.. faithfulness to church, Bible study, prayer, tithes and offerings, faith sharing, or even encouraging others who are lost or not in church. All of these things better us as individuals as well as please God for our efforts, so why not choose these commitments to begin a new year with? I encourage you this year to make your commitments known to God and dedicate some changes in your life that will not only benefit yourself, but give yourself to God's purpose and work for His honor and glory. I promise if you stick to it, God will bless you in 2015 to become a more dedicated Christian in serving your church and community. Don't leave God out of the New Year.
May God bless you in 2015. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (NKJV) Bro. Trent & Ms. Rebecca
