Ephesians 2:10
“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do”.
Have you ever seen a nice work of art? Maybe you saw a nice painting somewhere and you couldn’t take your eyes off of it. You actually wondered what the person was thinking as they stroked the brush across the canvas.
Ephesians 2:10 reminds me of an artist work. You see, God created us, He is the artist. We are His “perfect” workmanship. He made us beautiful and encoded in our hearts to do good work for him. However, if we let sin enter our lives we can potentially take God’s wonderful workmanship and allow it to become ugly to others who see us on a daily basis. The verse above reminds us that God has prepared us to do good works for Him. Ask yourselves today, what have you done for Him? Have you reached out to a person in need or to someone who may be hurting? When others see our good works they begin to ask questions. They want to know what it is that makes us smile!
This week we will be wrapping up on our Friends series. We will be talking about our “identity”. What is it that identifies us? Is it good works or something else? See you Wednesday!
