“On the contrary, we speak as men approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please men but God, who tests our hearts”.
At some point or another in our lives we have all faced peer pressure. The key to peer pressure is not giving into it. We all want to be accepted and join the “in crowd”. However, sometimes the “in crowd” may not be the crowd we should be with.
You see, I think it’s far better to have 1 or 2 really close friends than to have many friends that really don’t care about how we feel or what we believe. If all they want to do is have fun and not care if it’s right or wrong it could possibly hurt someone or hurt ourselves in that matter.
We may get teased by other people because we don’t want to do what they to do. If we don't go along with them, we may face ridicule. But I say, 'who cares what they think'. Just keep pressing on and pleasing God. Do what you know is right and stay focused on God. After all, who are we really trying to please, men or God?
This Wednesday night we will be staring our 2nd lesson on “Friends”. We will be talking about peer pressure and how to deal with it.
