God has been so gracious to provide this place where we meet with Him week after week. You have been faithful in giving not only tithes but offerings as well. The current indebtedness on the building is $216,019.63. We believe with this special offering we can lower this amount significantly. Once we have retired this debt, we will be able to move into other areas of ministry God has for us.
The economic situation this year has been less than favorable….we have seen investments and savings take a big hit….some of you have lost jobs. Expenses have increased. BUT THE ONE THING WE HAVE NOT SEEN IS A DECREASE IN GOD’S FAITHFULNESS AND HIS BLESSINGS. King David wanted to build an altar and offer sacrifices unto the Lord to lift the plague from God’s people. Araunah the Jebusite offered to give David his threshing floor for the altar and anything he needed for the sacrifice. David said, “No; but I will surely buy it of thee at a price; neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the Lord my God of that which cost me nothing.”
Sometimes the most important things God ask us to do are in difficult times. It takes an unusual amount of trust and faithfulness on our part to step out in faith. However, in difficult times, GOD ALWAYS RECEIVES THE GLORY.
I would ask each of you to spend time in prayer with your family (especially include your children) to find what God wants you to do for this special offering. I have personally found some things in my life I can give up to increase my offering.
You will be hearing more about this special offering in the weeks to come. Our prayer is for each and every individual to contribute to this special offering which we are calling our “WHITE CHRISTMAS OFFERING” in gratitude to our Lord and Savior for His special gift of salvation.
