Jacob was satisfied even though his life, like ours, was often a puzzle to him. We often have no explanation for life’s disappointments, failures, and even its joys. But can we look at all of that and say, “I am satisfied,” in face of the puzzles? Yes. As the workings of God’s providence become ever more real to us, as we look back and realize that He has been preparing us for the present day we can say, “Father, I am satisfied in You, even though life is often a puzzle to me.”
