To combat a discontented soul is to become a thankful soul!
Solomon on 3 occasions wrote: Proverbs 15:17: "Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith." Proverbs 17:1: "Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife." Proverbs 16:8: "Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right." Better is: Is your public worship Good?
Is Your private worship deep? If not, why not? To depart is very much better, but to remain is more necessary!
How easy it is to forget that God is for us! Makes me Laugh: 1. We are not alone. 2. We are to win. 3. We all have trouble. 4. We are in the best of company! 3 areas of time!
Past relationships -verse 4 "Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul." Present relationships -verse 9 "I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living." Future relationships -verse 19 "In the courts of the Lord's house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord." Joy is the flag that flies above the castle of our hearts!
I. Joy in spite of II. A letter with a great theme III. Needed, a joy transfusion Please pray during this service that God will work in my life in the following areas:
I need to become a Christian. I am no longer close to God, and I need to return to an intimate relationship with Him. I am seeking God's direction about a church home in this community. I am lonely and need Christian fellowship. I have sinned and need to confess, repent and experience God's cleansing and forgiveness. My spouse/child are not Christians. My spouse/child is a Christian but is not close to the Lord. My child is living in rebellion. Pray that he/she will return to the Lord. A Christmas Message of Joy
We Preach Christ: As a baby lying in a manger As a sacrifice on a cross As a King reigning on a throne. God with us! The Ethiopian.....
He could thankfully remember: -the place where he was saved -the person whom God used -the scripture text read -the profession of his faith -the joy which filled his soul |
