On December 13th and 20th, our Church family will have an opportunity to give our Lord a birthday gift. These monetary gifts will be above our regular tithes and offerings and a musical interlude will be played in both services as our families and individuals come forward to give to Him!
When you read the Old Testament Psalms, one psalm jumps out at you - Psalms 78! “I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old: Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.”
As Christians, what we do today will greatly affect our children, teens, and our grandchildren. The church of our Lord is only one generation shy of extinction. So we have a serious work before us, to be faithful in our witness, in our lifestyle, and in our church life. We want the coming generation to know of the Lord and His Church.
You and I cannot avoid leaving an inheritance for the next generation. The decisions we make, the examples we set in our daily life, and the going to church on Sundays, help make up our legacy. Psalms 78:6…”that the generation to come might know…”
